If I just rated it on her writing style, it would get 4-5 stars, but Fitz's endless slog to Tradeford and then to find Verity was painful. There were some really interesting points that deserved more attention, such as the "old blood" and the episode at Tradeford. But no, Fitz had to get back to the woods or trail. And the poor guy gets beat to a bloody pulp at every turn. Rarely do we find any enjoyable or uplifting thread in the whole book. Was disapppointed in the action but the lady can write well. Finished it. Unlikely to ever reread.
